#Leadership101 I try to tech and talk to my players about everything. I’m transparent with them about my mistakes, bad choices and decisions in life, so they will make better and wiser choices and decisions in their own lives. I’m the last line of instruction they have before they hit the real world, so I constantly take the time to give them tools to prepare them for all aspects of life. I’m a very untraditional coach and we’re a very untraditional unit. I’m honest with them and I force them to be honest with each other, therefore our culture is one of transparency, honesty and humility. Regardless of how talented you are there’s no place for selfishness amongst us. If you’re not humble, you must conform or you won’t fit in. I firmly believe the more mature they become, the better they will play, because of their personal accountability, habits, leadership qualities and commitment to each other.
As their leader, If all I am to them is a football coach, I have failed them as men. #Ap2w
