These insurance rates in Louisiana are insane...and what is being done about it??? I'm hearing so many people tell me their mortgages went up by hundreds or even more than $1000 WHOOOOO can afford this

We just got our mortgage documents. It went up $300 per month last year bc our insurance doubled. It’s going up $250 more a month on June 1. And we haven’t gotten our insurance increase for 2024 yet. $2K a month for our mortgage. I think we’re going to have to go back to renting.

Going through natural disasters always remind me of experiences from Katrina. As an adult looking back I just can’t even imagine how my parents did it.

Lately I’ve been hearing so much about the insurance crisis in Louisiana and as a homeowner I feel it. It’s pretty ridiculous. My heart goes out to those on a fixed income being forced out or those having to choose to forego insurance with hurricane season upon us.

Just seems like a distraction from actual learning and something more appropriate to be covered in Sunday school, bible study, church or at home. Even something which can be addressed in a religious private school. Just my thoughts…

I’m a Christian and I attended catholic school for a good portion of my life and that was my PARENTS’ choice. Placing items in public schools which may directly conflict with others religious beliefs seems counterproductive especially when we should be focused on literacy.

Doesn’t placing the 10 Commandments in public school classrooms violate the idea of separation between church & state. I don’t think it’s right to impose a religion on others in the USA where we are to have the freedom to choose religion. Are we adding all religions to the class?
