The thing with MJ is even if there was zero sexual anything (doubtful), all the stuff we all saw with our own eyes and heard him say was already not how you act with kids! Especially the troubled kids with unstable home lives he particularly favored

what is wild to me is that no one has ever questioned MJ’s talent but his stans act like having an honest conversation about his predatory behavior is blasphemy

I am a fan, you are annoying.
It is wild that the Jackson estate has decided that the smartest way to address the continual public memory of Michael Jackson’s allegations is to call all those children and their parents money hungry. You could have just said nothing. It would have worked.
Variety@Variety

#Michael director Antoine Fuqua questions some allegations against Michael Jackson: “When I hear things about us — Black people in particular, especially in a certain position — there’s always pause," he told The New Yorker, which added that "the filmmaker was skeptical of some of the accusers’ parents." While Fuqua stressed didn’t know the truth behind the allegations made against Jackson over the years, he noted that “sometimes people do some nasty things for some money.” variety.com/2026/film/news…

Meanwhile, Deliver Me from Nowhere, a beautiful film that deconstructs the mythology of Bruce Springsteen and paints an empathetic and nuanced portrait of his struggles with clinical depression and reconciling the ghosts of his past, was a financial dud. What a world we live in.
Global Box Office@GlobalBoxOffice

MICHAEL is now tracking to surpass OPPENHEIMER ($82M) to become the highest-grossing opening for biopic of ALL TIME. The King of Pop movie is making $85M-$105M this weekend domestically.

#Michael is aiming to set the record for biggest music biopic opening weekend with a $70 million-plus debut. Some exhibitors are predicting the final number will be closer to $80 million, far above 2018’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” ($51 million) and 2015’s “Straight Outta Compton” ($60 million, the current record holder). “Michael” is expected to be even bigger internationally. It’s projected to earn $75 million to $80 million from 82 markets. Globally, the film should end up with a stellar $140 million to $150 million (or more) by Sunday. variety.com/2026/film/box-…

@PoliticalLeft89 Explain how, in this very specific instance, the two are different? Did Jackson, like the Church, not pay outrageous sums to alleged victims for their silence?

The Michael part two movie is definitely never happening. You can only sneak the rehabbing of his public image in when you include it with a bunch of spectacle concert scenes. No one wants to follow up the musical movie with a full legal drama that everyone knows is lying.

Beyond Proud of this masterful film. Jaafar and Juliano are revelations. Working with my wifey Nia Long to portray a complex couple of parents who birthed legends. Thank you Antoine and Graham for your faith in me to portray Joe Jackson. I know what I know. This is special. I am awed by what we made. With loving whispers in my ear from Jackie, Jermaine, Latoya and Marlon and Ms. Katherine last night. My heart is full. See you at the theater. In IMAX. Trust ❤️

people acting like the michael biopic getting a 27% on rotten tomatoes is a personal attack rather than a natural result of most biopics being bad

@the1point8 It was an honest portrayal. You haters just only want a movie that says he was guilty. Go watch that propaganda film Leaving Neverland to satisfy your sick needs.

@MatthewACherry Maybe a more honest portrayal of his life + work could help. Enough with mytholozing clearly flawed popular figures. People can see thru this facade so easily now and it shows on screen. Honest portrayals is all thats asked. Directors/writers need to do better.

Critics: “Sanitised!” “A snooze!” “Mimicry!” “Doesn’t talk about the dark stuff!” In other words, “please don’t see this film and have an epiphany over how our terrible media institutions crucified this guy over things he didn’t do.” It was expected. It’s laughable. Ignore.
