This is my sincere goodbye to all the amazing explorers who changed the world. As my nephew, Marco said before passing away "I have not told half of what I saw." My journeys to Asia will live forever. Thank You for all the support 😪 Ciao A Tutti, Maffeo Polo

@PoloMaffeo It is so interesting to meet different people along the journey. The priests and our crew during my journey constantly prayed for the non-Christian people we met. God is with us.

When we visited Tabriz, the Safavid kingdom was ruling the city and it was the capital that's why it was so rich and beautiful. When we visited Badakhshan, a local dynasty was the roller but we don't know much about them, we just stayed there to sleep ad get some resources.

And so did them. Our presence affected the Chinese, because we opened the doors for both continents, increasing trade and connections between the two continents.

Our mission to go to China was mostly to spread Christianity, the Mongol Emperor was very interested in Christianity and he accepted all religions and ideologies. We didn’t only spread Christianity throughout the vast Mongol Empire, we also shared our thoughts and ideas.

By our travels, ideas, and goods from China. We brought opportunities for Europe but indirect threats for China.

Well, the effect my nephew had on the world is crazy. From all the goods that he brought to Europe from China to all his detailed writings and descriptions.

When we arrived at the Gobi Desert and Suchow they were both occupied by the Mongol Empire. The Mongols had a very complex society with their laws, culture, and customs.

When we went through the Pamir Mountains, we met local people that would give us shelter, and we tried to communicate with them but it was kinda hard, we learned a lot of their langue but like always we had to move with our journey.

Me and the boys planned to use the astrolabe and quadrant during our journey to China. But the most useful navigational system that we are going to use is the compass. #bestnavigationaltool

The biggest challenge that we faced was crossing the vast distance and harsh terrain between Venice and China.

We were away from our family and Italy for 24 years, and when we came back we barely knew the langue. You probably already heard of my nephew's amazing book he wrote, but many people we laughing at him and didn't believe what we accomplished.

We had challenges that we faced both during our adventures and after were hard to overcome, many places that be traveled through were unknown places so we had to risk our lifes becuase we didn't know if there were any dangerous animals or indigenous people.

When the Great Khan saw Marco, who was then a young stripling, he asked who he was. ‘Sir’ said Messer Niccolo, ‘he is my son and your liegeman.’ ‘He is heartily welcome,’ said the Khan. They stayed at Court and had a place of honor above the other barons.”

(6/6) After 24 years of our journey, we finally have reached Kublai Khan’s summer residence Shant-tu in May 1275. We got greeted by Kublai Khan’s royal escort, which was very nice. We were greeted and felt very welcomed by the generosity of Kublai Khan, the Great Mongol Emperor.
