@PolyLinaCat

Opinionated, but very boring. Sex positive, polyamorous accountant and amateur artist. Community builder, armchair legal nerd, social justice rogue. She/her

@tribecamick @_celia_bedelia_ I have a chronic auto-immune condition. When I engaged in physical activity enough to cause inflammation that would trigger an auto-immune response and the inflammation from that then would trigger more auto-immune responses, and so on. Creating a cascade.

@djangofetts I started buying the pre-cut fruit containers. Now I have fresh fruit most mornings without worrying about whether it'll go bad waiting for me to prep it.

@JadeK526 Look, I know my perimenopausal ass is awake at 3:15am, but I *do not* have time to get up, prepare a whole ceremony to worship the Dark Lord, and still be able to go back to sleep in an attempt to find some additional REM before the alarm goes off.

@Bossy_Leah It takes more than that to prep the chicken, cook it, and then clean up the kitchen afterwards. Time that most struggling families would then have to sacrifice spending in other ways (like helping kids with homework).

Why is it so difficult and time consuming to get to Hyde Park by the city’s public transportation system? It’s like they are enticing us to take an Uber to get to the south side

What’s the equivalent of “I have a boyfriend” to those charity muggers that hang around train stations or town centres?

@she_obey The sweater in particular is a hilarious choice. There is no sweater on the planet baggy enough that it conceals large breasts and still fits in the arms.

@tonyhamm17 @iamAtheistGirl I'm a fan of canon Jesus not the fanfic Jesus. The fanfic Jesus crowd lost the thread a long time ago. Meanwhile I'm over here trying to advocate for the poor, the sick, the hungry. Because that's what canon Jesus would do.

@atrupar So...ummm...awkward...but... Can someone actually ask him what he thinks today's date is.... Like, is he perpetually stuck in the period between Election day 2020 and 1/6/21?

@cmclymer I'm not a proponent of stealing. But if I see someone who is obviously struggling stealing from a corporate store.... I don't feel a moral imperative to tell on them.

I think it's bad to steal, and I think it's cringey for financially comfortable people to argue that petty theft from the grocery store is a savvy form of political protest.

@emzanotti I've known where my food comes from since the time I was old enough to understand. My line was that I just didn't want to eat anything I'd "met" before.

@covie_93 It's because every truly extraordinarily brilliant person knows they're also a total bonehead sometimes. Usually their boneheadedness is directly proportional to their brilliance. Nature likes balance.

@shannonrwatts This looks like a "discussion" in my family, where the tension level is measured in how far out people's chins are from the rest of their body.

@HedgeUnderCover @HotmerRobin @DanaPalubiak Our house rule was you had to try some of everything offered before you could fill up on non-green things. Asparagus and artichokes were my favorite veggies growing up. Only lima beans had to be eaten in full (as punishment if we forgot to refill the cat's food dish).

@PolyLinaCat @HotmerRobin @DanaPalubiak More parents need to be like that. My son has food aversion and while I did introduce him to a lot, I also worked with his needs so that he would eat. He never went to bed hungry. I couldn't do that to him after having done that as a child. But it was nutritous food. Eggs and veg

The 'serve what you eat or they wait 12 hours' approach assumes every kid is neurotypical. Some kids will genuinely starve before eating something that triggers a sensory aversion. Fed is best. Even if it's chicken nuggets.
Dr. Camilo Ortiz 👨🏼‍🎓@DrCamiloOrtiz

No parent needs to have "child foods" like sugary cereals or processed chicken nuggets at home to "get their child to eat." For example, you serve them whatever you are eating for dinner. If they don't eat it, that's perfectly fine. Breakfast will be served in 12 hours.
