The left wants us all dead, actually. You want to unite with the people that cheered when Charlie Kirk, a young father and moderate right winger, was shot through the neck? I don’t. You think you’re going to unite “the left” and “the right” by common criticism of Israel, but to the left, their anti-white hatred is much more important than their criticism of Israel and most of their criticism of Israel is a result of them wrongly identifying Israel as “white colonisers”.

It’s fascinating that as society became more feminized and women got more power, this created in those women (and the institutions they now control) the perception that men are increasingly radicalized
Michael A. Arouet@MichaelAArouet

That's an interesting chart. Young men have stayed similarly conservative for over 25 years, while young women have drifted much further left. Why such a divergence? What has changed for young women that hasn't changed for young men?

Not all teenagers grow up. The pressure to do so is largely internal rather than external in today’s society. This applies to both genders (eg the quirk chungus for women and the men below). To pass the final entrance exams into adulthood one must WANT to do so. No one is coming to save you. Will you even bother to save yourself?

Women are going insane because the choices available to them have never, ever been worse. Men need to have a lifestyle that is consistent with life as an adult masculine male. I have sympathy for these guys (I was one of them) but there was a limit to my tolerance for failure.

If I told you a twenty-three-year-old guy once jumped into a freezing reservoir, swam ten metres down to a sunken trolleybus, kicked through a glass window in the dark, and physically pulled dozens of people out of the water, you might think it was a movie script. But it actually happened in 1976 in Yerevan, Armenia. The man was Shavarsh Karapetyan. He just happened to be jogging by the water when the bus went off the road. He also happened to be a seventeen-time world champion and eleven-time world record holder in underwater finswimming. The vehicle sank straight to the bottom with ninety-two passengers inside. Because Karapetyan was quite literally the best underwater swimmer on the planet, he spent twenty minutes diving into the raw sewage and freezing water. He would hold his breath, swim down, locate someone in the murky dark, drag them to the surface, and pass them to his brother in a rowboat before going straight back down. Twenty of those passengers survived. There is no record of a single person ever pulling off an underwater physical rescue of that scale before or since. The physical toll completely ended his athletic career. The broken glass shredded his legs, and the heavily polluted water gave him severe pneumonia and sepsis. He spent forty-five days unconscious in a hospital and lost his physical ability to compete at a world-class level. When reporters later asked him what the hardest part of the rescue was, he did not mention the cold or the injuries. He said that on one of his dives in the pitch black, he accidentally grabbed a leather seat cushion instead of a passenger, and he spent years having nightmares about the person he could have brought up instead.

For decades, prehistorical evidence was forced through a left-wing theory filter: primitive communism, the noble savage, and the myth that violence came from hierarchy, property, and “the system.” But the bones kept talking, and they disagree with the left.

David Reich on how much ancient DNA evidence has overturned so much consensus thinking how ancient cultures spread. "It wasn't peaceful, it wasn't friendly, it wasn't nice. Some of our archaeologist co-authors were just really distressed."

The Guns N’ Roses song “November Rain” has one of the longest and most epic backstories in rock. Axl Rose began writing it in 1983, before he had even formed Guns N’ Roses. At that time, he was already playing it on the piano in hotel rooms and during rehearsals. The song slowly evolved over the years, incorporating grand orchestral arrangements and becoming a nearly nine-minute power ballad. The main inspiration for the lyrics and the music video’s concept comes from the short story “Without You,” written by Del James, a close friend of the band. It tells the story of a musician who loses the love of his life. A tale of pain, loss, and grief that resonated deeply with Axl. When they finally recorded it for the album Use Your Illusion I (1991), it became a monumental production. It featured a full orchestra, piano, acoustic and electric guitars, and one of Slash’s most memorable solos. Released as a single in 1992, it reached number 3 on the Billboard charts despite its unusual length and became a phenomenon thanks to the music video, one of the most expensive in rock history. It depicts a beautiful wedding with Stephanie Seymour (Axl’s girlfriend at the time) that ends in tragedy amid a torrential storm. Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful ballads of all time
