Dr. Malasri will offer Transport Packaging and Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Packaging from June 1 – July 24, 2026. They are asynchronous online. Dr. Ventura will offer Measuring and Monitoring Temperature during the same period. It will be a hybrid format with hands-on lab.
Students in PKG 412 Cold Chain Packaging measured the temperatures at the 8 corners of a 64-CF chamber using 8 portable temperature data sensors.

Students in PKG 203 Distribution Packaging learned how to certify a transport testing lab by assisting the course instructor in preparing video clips of testing equipment for the recertification of the CBU ISTA Certified Transport Testing Lab.

Students in Distribution Packaging compared two cases of 32oz bottles. One case contained only bottles without product boxes. Another case contained bottles inserted into product boxes. They did the two drop sequences from ISTA 3A without vibration testing in between.

Calah’s work on cellulose insulation has made noteworthy progress with satisfactory results to report. The first study is to compare the insulation performance of cellulose in board and loose form. The board outperformed the loose form.

Josiah Brown, CBU packaging graduate Class of 2024, visited the CBU ISTA Certified Packaging Lab during the Spring Break week. He is an R&D Packaging Engineer with Enovis in Austin, Texas. While he visited the lab, he helped prepare test products for an ISTA 3A project.
Evan Edwards, Manager of Packaging Engineering for the FedEx Packaging Lab in Collierville, TN, will give a presentation on “Unpacked – The Measurement of Packaging Performance” at the upcoming 2026 HPC Spring Virtual Meeting.
