What is the "x402 meta" by simple terms??? watchlist is valuable, but not everyone understands WTF is that $x402 just hit a $180M market cap, so yeah, that’s pretty interesting let me try to explain it like i’m five y.o ⬇️ "WTF is that???" x402 is a new payment method based on the HTTP code you’ve all definitely heard of “404” (not found), it's the same but "402" is a similar code, which means “payment required,” and it’s almost never used it makes it possible to process crypto payments directly inside an HTTP request the server sends a request for payment, and the client (a user or an AI agent) pays it the best part is that you can pay with stablecoins, whatever works best for you "Soooo, what does this mean for AI agents????"" previously, it was difficult for AI agents to access content or even APIs now they’re able to pay for every request or piece of access autonomously without any dev involvement (no human needed overall) which allows them to operate fully autonomously "Are we talking about a real global solution here?" Google API and Cloudflare already support it, and this could spark a real boom at the very least, it’s a game changer for AI agents and anything integrating x402 for instance, some launchpads are already using it to launch memecoins, hehe but… it feels a bit overhyped in terms of "memecoin new era" after all, it’s mostly driven by hype, nothing more. keep that in mind x402 itself will likely be used for many years, but the tokens named after it? probably not
