gMoose guys!
It's another day in the @DataHaven_xyz !!
Today, I moved deeper into the forests of CampHaven and explored the "Platform Architecture" tent
Here's what I learned 👇
Core Layer
• DataHaven is a full Layer-1 built on Substrate
~ deep customization, fast upgrades, proxy accounts, multisig, batching - all built into the runtime.
~ it acts as a programmable base chain, not just storage.
• Consensus = BABE + GRANDPA
~ BABE (block production) - responsible for creating new blocks every 6 sec.
~ GRANDPA (finality) - responsible for locking blocks permanently.
Ethereum + Interop
• Full EVM compatibility
~ deploy solidity without rewriting anything.
~ it feels like building on ethereum coz of same language, same wallets, and same tooling.
~ comes with built-in Snowbridge + BEEFY bridge for token transfers, contract calls, and cross-chain messaging
EigenLayer AVS Integration
• DataHaven operates as an AVS (Actively Validated Service)
~ validators are operators registered on ethereum.
~ all staking rewards and slashing are handled through the AVS contracts.
~ operator lists and reward updates are synced both ways across the bridge.
Storage Layer (star of the show)
• StorageHub built into the chain
~ blockchain keeps track of what is stored and where, while the actual files live off-chain.
~ chain verifies storage using cryptographic proofs (Merkle proofs), so you don’t need to trust anyone blindly.
• MSPs (Main Storage Providers) & BSPs (Backup Storage Providers)
~ MSPs are the primary file hosts.
~ users upload their data → MSP stores it → MSP gets paid in $HAVE.
~ BSPs act as mirrors / backups, storing redundant copies of data in chunks, so nothing is lost if one provider fails.
In simpler terms: MSPs = main storage, BSPs = safety net
• Merkle Patricia Forests + Merklized Files
~ instead of keeping full files onchain, DataHaven stores cryptographic fingerprints.
~ random chunks get checked to prove providers are actually storing data.
• Fisherman Nodes
~ they watch the network like auditors.
~ if a file is deleted, they verify it and update storage records so no one gets paid for data they no longer hold.
So in short…
Ethereum devs won’t feel like strangers here.
DataHaven speaks the same language, it talks to Ethereum directly, and apps can pass more than just tokens, they can pass instructions, actions, logic.
That's all for today, see you in the next tent!
Keep exploring! Keep camping!
