Whoever said “money can’t buy happiness” really knew what they were talking about 😔

I have a theory of why Davido and the rest didn’t win a Grammy for the last two years. Western award platforms keep rewarding artists like Tyla in African categories to slowly reshape African music. If someone can win an African category while sounding very American, other artists might start copying that sound just for recognition. Even the VMAs gave her Best Afrobeats when she isn’t Afrobeats. This isn’t just banter. If we’re not careful about what we support, our artists will start losing their originality to chase Western validation. And honestly, Africans should not use the Grammys to measure success. It’s an American award system full of politics, propaganda, and nepotism.
