@adamtirapelle IZZAK Olejnik’s dad and I were college teammates. I had the privilege of watching this kid grow up and the honor of experiencing his training habits firsthand! A lot goes into success at the D1 level. Izzak has the number 1 AND Most ESSENTIAL asset. His WORK ETHIC is insane!

Izzak Olejnik placed twice in CA state, 4th and 5th. His dad was a state champ wrestler so he’d been around the sport from an early age. But probably didn’t win many youth titles. And we wrestled him a lot being from Bakersfield. Always a good wrestler. Never a great wrestler, at least with high school results. Now he’s a D1 AA and a winner of the NWCA All-Star match! There’s a LOT of state champs and Tulsa champs that can’t say that. The long game pays off. Really cool to watch his journey play out. And obviously, huge win tonight!
