These accounts are extremely hard to obtain, restricted to regulated depository institutions and subject to strict regulatory oversight. Fintechs like Ripple are not eligible for direct access.🙇‍♂️ However, Ripple gains indirect access by partnering with Finastra, one of the largest core banking tech providers integrated with the FedNow Service.✅ The key component here is the Liquidity Management Tool (LMT), a feature within FedNow that enables private sector instant payment services like Ripple to route transactions through tech providers such as Finastra and settle in central bank money via participating banks that do have Master Accounts.‼️ Because FedNow is ISO 20022 native, it allows Ripple’s XRP-based payment flows to be interoperable with compliant, real time banking flows.💨 The Liquidity Management Tool is what enables Ripple to plug into the U.S. central banking system indirectly.
