More reports why Sony is trying to end physical discs: - They want to cut out the middle man, to make more profit per sale (like remove walmart cuts etc) - Sony thinks the fanbase will not switch platforms, they can do what they please without losing fans - They are convinced by ignoring this issue, they fans will just accept the changes and convert to 100% digital with time. - Sony thinks they are "too big to have commination with fans". Talking to fans has no margin benefit, so they refuse to address fans and will keep doing so I have lost all trust and goodwill with PlayStation, no words what is happening right now. Horrible company

@TechnicallyTee Even if you don't care about physical media, there are many reasons why people do and there are many reasons to have it around. Educate yourself on this. Also, you will find that prices of games digitally will go up and up because there will be no secondary market anymore...

@TechnicallyTee Outrage or people being extremely upset is a little much. This is a first world problem and gaming isn't a necessity for life. For many though, it is a necessity for happiness. People want to consume games the way they want to and change can be difficult...

I personally don’t care that there aren’t going to be anymore physical disc for PlayStation. I haven’t bought a hard copy game in 10 yrs. I play the game, enjoy it and that’s it. I never understand the outrage.

So you know how you’ve always been able to get digital games for much cheaper than physical, especially with sales? Expect that to end. Once there is no alternative they will keep the prices high, it’s inevitable. That’s why even all digital gamers are highly affected by this.

This also means the PS6 will either come out late 2027 or definitely in 2028 at some point. They will save lots of money by not building ps6 with disc as an option.
