Today, Education Secretary @gilliankeegan announced that the use of mobile phones is to be banned in schools across England. Our new guidance will support school leaders in banning mobile phone use throughout the school day, to tackle online bullying and improve behaviour.

@RogersHistory Ten years in, and I’m happier than I ever was before teaching. The reasons are; the teenagers make me laugh EVERY day; I work with a kind and dedicated group of English teachers; I’ve opted not to progress to SLT yet, and instead enjoy being HoD and teaching a lot!

As teachers go on strike again this week, this graph tells the story of how pay has declined relative to inflation. Since 2009, teachers’ pay has risen by just 22%, while the price of goods and services (RPI inflation) has soared by 62%. #SaveOurSchools

My daughter gets a list of words to practice for HW. I quiz her on them for five minutes. She goes to class and feels successful because she knows the words. The class can move forward. Everyone is happy. Why do people want to eliminate homework again?
