@4thandsaturday There were so many better and more competent options out there. Illegitimate search but I understand why the hire was made. I was against it but we will own the pain of how and IF he has the skill to manage at an elite level
English

Josh Elander is the guy right now. Tony V isn’t coming back here, it’s not going to happen
Elander is a solid coach & who ALL the players wanted however this next portal class will define his future as the Tennessee baseball coach
You can’t miss on that many bullpen arms again…
Your development of players is also EXTREMELY important. CMO, Burke, Beck, etc. all had some bad Freshman/Sophomore slumps.
It is mandatory that Blaine Brown, Cam Appenzeller, Jay Abernathy, Levi Clark, Landon Mack, Brady Frederick, etc. make jumps next season… and Trent Grindlinger he’s special you do everything you can to make sure that kid knows how much he means to this program.
The super regional streak is over. It’s time to grind this offseason. Put together a better roster next season and start a new streak.
It’s Josh’s team now. It’s time for him to start to cement his legacy at UT and show he was the right hire when we look back in 10 years.

Josh Elander takes Tennessee to the tournament with about 4 months to prepare as a first year head coach.
LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss all missed the tournament the year after winning a Natty
Successful season, bad finish, let’s see what’s he does year 2 with a full offseason. Hopes are high
Go Vols🧡

@ByMikeWilson What the fuck does that matter! Obvious why he was hired but jury way way out if he has the tools to coach at an elite level
English

@kerrywilliams_ Are you kidding? Cupboard full, big budget and he has been in system for what 7 years? Set up hire. He has a steep climb to be successful at the elite level
English

@AustinJ80275956 @pmfaulk75 Wrong player very exact and obvious trend in coaching ‘style’ even if the ooor guy could claim one
English

@PoppyJughead @pmfaulk75 Every point you have tried to prove you have been wrong. Seasons over go watch some baseball 101 videos be ready for next season.
English

Why did Josh Elander put on a squeeze play in extra innings against ECU on Friday?
"It is an indefensible play if you execute it right there," Elander said. "We were unable to do so."

English

@pmfaulk75 @AustinJ80275956 Of course I do. You haven’t watched much baseball. No intent to engage in either pitch .
English

@PoppyJughead @AustinJ80275956 Point still stands? One you have no clue if there was a take sign on 3-0. And even if there was, 3-1 is still very much a hitters count. Your 2 hole hitter needs to be able to hit in a 3-1 count.
English

@More_Issues Going to be a long off season and uphill climb for this staff. Not a lot of experience and a head coach who can’t get his head out of the playbook . Recipe for mediocrity
English

@PoppyJughead @AustinJ80275956 That was Grimmer not Grindlinger. If you’re going to argue at least know what you’re talking about.
English

@pmfaulk75 @AustinJ80275956 Hottest hitter on team with 2 hard takes 3-0! Bad bad and I mean horrible coaching . Sorta like taking the bat out of Chapman’s hands
English

@PoppyJughead @AustinJ80275956 Grindlinger never had a 3-0 count so there is that. And I have no idea if there was a take sign for Grinmer 3-0 but if you’re 2 hole hitter can’t hit with a 3-1 count you have bigger issues.
English

@pmfaulk75 @AustinJ80275956 Guy can’t manage a game, has zero and I mean zero situational awareness. But to be expected one would assume. But he will take the Vols to middle of pack once again . Bad bad hire
English

Once again @josh_elander shows his coaching prowess and puts the hard take for 2 meat pitches on 3-0 for Grindlinger after lead off double. Guy has no in game IQ. @Vol_Baseball will move to mediocrity under him while he gets paid to learn on the job.
English

@pmfaulk75 @AustinJ80275956 There’s the coaching 101. Lead off double, 3-0 count to Grindlinger and he out the take sign on next 2 meat pitches followed by a K. End of inning. He’s not ready for big time coaching. Period
English

@PoppyJughead @AustinJ80275956 I love Chapman for those reasons as well but again let’s not pretend like he’s C Mo, Fischer, etc. He had a double earlier in the game but had also struck out and grounded out to 2B. I understand wanting to see him swing but bunting there makes just as much sense if not more IMO.
English

@PoppyJughead @BatteredVawl516 @Vol_Baseball @josh_elander That’s like baseball 101
When you have runners first and second no outs, you bunt them over when you’re in a spot to win the game.
Especially with that situation. ECU brings in new pitcher with splitter (hard against Lefty’s) chances are he Ks or rolls over into DP
English

Just a fundamentally flawed baseball team @Vol_Baseball It starts with @josh_elander
English

@kerrywilliams_ What an investment Elander made on that total washout
English

Holy cow Elander finally did it
