@Poptique I’ve followed you back. Please note that I can’t get into specifics regards titles that the BFI can or cannot license. Happy to be sent suggestions. I’m also on leave this week so I’m not working during it 🙂

Hola @ThisisWalter89 - I've got a licensing question that I'd like to get your thoughts on, what's the best way of getting in touch with you direct? (DMing on here I guess, but you'd have to give me a follow I guess, to be able to do that?)

Beatles Rockband got a lot of flack at the time, but it gave me a very happy memory of rocking up at my Mum's with the whole kit and kaboodle & myself, my brother's & my nephew rinsing the whole thing in an afternoon as she sung along. (We even got her on drums at one point).

Yes we’re still getting new songs to play in The Beatles Rock Band in 2026😁 You’re Going To Lose That Girl just released today from the TBRB Custom DLC team, this is their first time using motion capture and it looks fab! Very grateful for more Help songs. Enjoy the dreamscape!

@WilliamShatner Turns out he's the same person a report from 15 years ago suggested he was. (And I've already forgotten who that actually is).

@SinghBty @TheCinesthetic No subversion of expectations - original trailer really clearly telegraphed the twist, and the 'AND STEVEN SEGAL' status on the posters made it abundantly clear who was the star. Fun little throwaway film - but not the same trick as Hitchcock's star-name rug pull in 'Psycho'.

@TheCinesthetic Absolutely love how 'Executive Decision' subverted expectations with Seagal's early exit, it was a bold move that let Kurt Russell shine as the real hero. Fun fact: Seagal's role was always scripted to end early, even in the 1991 draft, to keep the tension high!

Executive Decision was released 30 years ago.m today. Steven Seagal was heavily marketed as the film’s main star, but his character is killed early in a shocking twist that caught many audiences completely off guard.

I mean, it were a fun little twist for a throwaway movie - but anyone paying attention could see it coming a mile off. Let's just say, it wasn't exactly comparable to the trick Hitchcock pulled with 'Psycho'.

At no point whatsoever was Seagal ever 'heavily promoted' as the 'main star' of Executive Decision during 1st release. He had 'special guest star' status on the posters & the original trailer telegraphed clearly what fate was in store for his character youtube.com/watch?v=Y8TGKm…

@wikivictorian Also, given what you've seen so far & enjoyed, I'd suggest the irrepressible Erich Von Stroheim might go down well aswell.

@wikivictorian I'd recommend a hat-trick of films from the Kings & Queen of silent Hollywood - Pickford's 'Sparrows' (that hits 100 this year), Chaplin's 'The Gold Rush', and Fairbanks' 'Thief of Bagdad' - all very different, all very good indeed, from three people who really changed the game.

Hello friends! I've been getting into silent cinema recently, and I enjoy it very much! So, in this lovely day, I'm asking for recomendations, if any of you have! There is so much silent films that I don't know what criteria to follow in choosing my next ones 😅 I have watch only a handful of movies, like It (1927), Stella Maris (1918), Nosferatu (1922), The Phantom of the Opera (1925), Zaza (1923) and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920). Any recomendations welcome, thank you so much in advance <3

@Anti_cinefilia @EchoLeeNumber2 Ghostwatch, as in the BBC show? I really don't think this is very accurate either. This was a massive cultural phenomenon in the UK when it aired, especially after a viewer killed themselves after watching it. The BFI released in on VHS & DVD in 2002, too early for uploads.

@EchoLeeNumber2 Ghostwatch gained a cult following because of bootlegs available on internet. If it wasn't for piracy it would be forgotten and we wouldn't get the dvd and blu-ray releases.

Without piracy, we wouldn't have either Nosferatu (1922) or Metropolis(1927) It's been true for over a century, so hang it up. This is just a new concept *to you*.
