6th graders had fun building boats from sticks and twine and connecting the idea back to their novel A Long Walk to Water.

6th grade students created a podcast focusing on our ELA essential question and their own narrative nonfiction writing piece about never giving up. They enjoyed exploring different types of podcasts and creating one of their own.

6th grade students created pasta cars and raced them down a ramp to see what car can travel the furthest distance. They had a great time working through the engineering design process and competing for first, second, and third place.

Our 6th grade band students are very excited for their band performance tonight!

6th graders used maps to analyze factors that influence weather.

In math enrichment, 6th grade students focused on using a table to write equations that represent a pattern of change.

6th graders completed an explore to answer the question; does the type of material of a spoon (metal, plastic, wood) affect the transfer of thermal energy when in contact with an ice cube?

6th grade students explored the testable question; will three different materials with different viscosities, or thicknesses, lose heat at the same rate? They worked with water, cooking oil, and corn syrup to analyze thermal energy transfer.

6th grade students gathered data and calculated the speed and kinetic energy of their motion. They then explained that kinetic energy can increase as the speed of an object increases.

Over the last couple of months, the 6th grade students have learned about the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the prominent people who fought so hard for equal rights for everyone! We hope you enjoy students’ presentation of everything they’ve learned!

6th graders are working as a team to escape Ancient Egypt, they are focusing on understanding their government, recreating a timeline and exploring the great achievements of this civilization.

5th Graders participated in a simulation that required them to be "taxed" on various things today. They gained an understanding of how frustrated the colonists felt prior to the Revolutionary War. The King and his tax collectors enjoyed all their earnings at the end of the day!

6th graders have been focusing on how Ancient Egyptians adapted to their environment, today they worked on an escape room to escape a mummy's tomb.
