We agree that the Blazers spark joy but that doesn’t mean the city council should abide some backroom deal for Portlanders to subsidize billionaire profits without explicit community benefits.

@PortlandDSA As a supporter of DSA, can you elaborate on the concept of 'no public benefit' for citizens? I think think blazers presence enriches lives of young and old folks. Helps local, small, and surrounding businesses. I think blazers are a net positive for all Oregonians. (I'm in Bend).

Here’s a dunce illustrating a fundamental difference between the mainstream Democratic Party & DSA.
Sometimes Democrats say they want a popular thing (I.e. Medicare for All) but then work to make sure it doesn’t happen because of corporate donor pressure.
DSA actually wants it.

I am a lifelong Democrat. I served on President Clinton’s National Security Council and in the State Department under Madeleine Albright. I am also a lifelong human rights and civil rights advocate. But every Democrat and every American should recognize that the DSA represents a fundamental threat to our party and our country.
