A while ago I thought of an idea for a V-Tuber short film exploring the idea of how we connect with people online and how people would be terrified to transition a parasocial into a social relationship. Is this still a relevant topic in the community? What else could be added?

Personally Im hoping to get to New York Comic Con this year. Had it planned for years but kept bring delayed due to surgeries. Hopefully this year though.

Most male VTubers are genuinely awesome people, but they struggle to find success because the space rewards lying, manipulation, telling people what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear, inauthenticity, playing a character, and catering to male/female fantasies Stop rewarding shitty behavior, and I think most people would be pleasantly surprised to discover that—well—most people are actually kind of wonderful. They've just never been given a real chance

If you work full time, you need to stop trying to have stream schedules like vtubers who are full time content creators. I know you want to spend time with your community, but you’re going to burn yourself out and have no time for marketing yourself other places. Instead of streaming 4-5 days, try 3-4 days and giving yourself days just to work on things like short/long form content, scheduling, and community nights! Utilizing your time properly and still giving yourself a chance to breathe is really important if you want to keep going strong!

I see a lot of discussion about people thinking of starting on Fansly (which I find both surprising and delightful lol). As a Vtuber that began on Twitch and recently started making content on both Twitch and Fansly, I wanted to offer my perspective! First, the 80/20 revenue split is totally true, and it's much nicer than Twitch's (but that's easy facts). As for streaming quality, I use the same resolution of 1080p 60fps on both platforms, but do note that Fansly supports a higher bitrate than Twitch. While Twitch caps out at 6000kbps, I actually can stream at 8000kbps or more on Fansly (I don't know if there is a bitrate limit, but it is certainly higher than on Twitch). And about the "you can be naked IF YOU WANT": people were surprised to hear this, but you in fact do not have to do NSFW content on Fansly! You are free to stream SFW games, post SFW content, and be a completely SFW creator if you so wish. However, I must remind you that Fansly still primarily hosts NSFW content and is mainly known for its NSFW creators. Currently, it is undoubtedly a sexually charged platform geared for lewd creators. Even if you don't produce it yourself, you and your community will very frequently see p*rn on the platform. If you are not okay with this, Fansly is not the platform for you. As for discoverability, it works differently on Fansly than on Twitch. You can post content like what you would see on Twitter, and livestream like what you would see on Twitch. The For You page can provide discovery for your posted content through Fansly's algorithm and/or hashtags, but this discoverability does not apply to livestreams. This leads into my biggest criticism of Fansly: its livestreaming component is much less robust than Twitch. There is no way to view a complete list of streamers; you're only shown the streamers you follow, and a smattering of 4-12 suggested streams at a time. There are no custom emotes, no raids, no clips. Heck, Fansly doesn't even save the VOD for you (the streamer has to record the VOD and upload it independently). Overall, I have greatly enjoyed my time as a Fansly creator, and I plan to continue creating content there for quite a while. Is it perfect? No, and if I ever claim a platform is perfect, know that I have received one heck of a bribe. But I have had a great experience on Fansly thus far, and I encourage you to do your own research to see if Fansly is a good platform for you.

V-Tubers arent as masisve as they used to be am I right? Was it just a boom from covid? Me personally I stopped due to wanting to shift my focus to my Masters and college stuff. Why was there no #VTuberUprising2ElecticBoogaloo ? When will they rise again?

Anyone else remember the old days of V-Tubing? Like peak Covid when everyone wanted something to do. I was 19, second year of college, all classes at home. There was a fck ton of V-Tubers. You could ask for V-Tubers to show their avatar and get near 50.

I remember that one of my biggests tweets was due to me being bored and just asking people to like and retweet just so the number could go up. That and #VTuberUprising Time is moving at an incomprehensible speed.
