In 1983, 66% of the Irish public voted in favour of the 8th Amendment by referendum to ban abortion constitutionally. After decades of debate, in 2018, they changed their mind and 66% chose to reverse that ban.
If the debate wasn't "over" in 1983, why is it over now?

The debate is over Ken, Ireland voted overwhelmingly for a woman’s right to choose so the real question is, how do we ensure safe access to abortion, while improving housing, childcare and supports for those who continue pregnancies?
