I’ve come to realize the highest-paid people at the company I work for don’t really do any actual work. They essentially host a faux podcast about the company all day, with each other as the only audience.

Gotta love a rural hole-in-the-wall. Ribeye, 1/4 chicken, mashed potatoes, and a salad bar for $22.50. My Iron Man streak in the Clean Plate Club continues. Hopefully the salad bar lettuce doesn’t put me in the ICU.

@Post40_ We always act like kids around kids. Probably why kids always love me as soccer coach. I don’t know what it is with women, a lot are afraid to not care what others think about them

Speaking solely from my experience out in public with my family, men like kids more than women do. Not babies, kids. I’ve noticed it across every adult age group.

@Ngamini2004 You’d be surprised how many guys approach me at the store and tell me to enjoy it, it goes fast. Or they wish they’d had more kids. Never women. Woman did approach a lot when my daughter was a baby tho.

@Post40_ I hadn’t thought of it that way but that definitely rings true to my experience. I work at a grocery store, and at my store, the male employees (myself included) are friendlier to kids than the female employees are.

Nothing like battling through two hours of Twin Cities roadwork and terrible drivers, only to realize you forgot the cabin key and have to turn around and fight your way back home.

@Post40_ That’s a fair point! In our case, though, we weren’t late. We have five kids and our paid off home. But we don’t live in it at the moment because we moved to Europe in 2022 😉

I get the thought, but a mortgage is a solvable math problem. Having kids is not, and that window is finite. If the house is the only thing standing in the way, I’d sell it and have the kids
Marсo | Not-Ideal Investor@b_co_co

@ewarren Kids. We put off having kids. Not because we didn't want them — because we did the math on daycare plus a mortgage and the number said "not yet."

@ashleyschendel I can see how it would be hard to give up what’s worked in the past, but in all my time on X/Twitter, it’s never been clearer what they want, and especially what they don’t. It’s time to move on from the engagement games and start creating original material.

I know one giant account that is continuing the same behavior yet still complaining they are demonetized. They say all of their stuff is original but it's just recycled motivational quotes that have been changed a tiny bit and scheduled out. It's unfortunate because I've spoken to the guy many times in Spaces so I know he's a real person.

A lot of accounts being demonetized or deleted are upset because some of the violations were applied retroactively and they didn’t get a chance to adjust. But if I’m Nikita, do I spend the next five years chasing around your latest impressions game, or do I just cut you off and move X in the direction I want?
Nikita Bier@nikitabier

There are a few spammers on X that have been pivoting their strategy for the last 6 months. One of the them (“This guy is a great trader ⬇️”) has pivoted a total of 40 times after each method has been blocked. Some of the techniques are so creative and fast that it feels like they’re sitting right next to us. At this point, we might as well hire them because they are just as familiar with the X codebase as us.

Cutting your grass at 7 a.m. on a Saturday sounds like a recipe for shots fired in the suburbs.

The scale skipped “good morning” and went straight for the nuts today. Feels like a month of hard work can be erased by a couple of extra tacos at dinner.

I’ve owned a home for 24 years, but with our third child arriving in November, we’ll outgrow this one, and it’s never been in the area where we want to be. Our oldest is open enrolled in the city where my wife works, so moving there makes sense. I just don’t like the idea of buying another house in another suburb, especially at today’s prices and rates. I’m seriously considering buying some legacy property or a lake cabin outright and renting where we need to live, but after owning my entire adult life, the idea feels crazy.
