@For3JT Nah. Having expectations and falling short >>> having no expectations because you’ve been ass for a decade
English

@clintcarlos We got guys from the portal. Some of them got hurt, some were good, some were not. Evals are alway the key, and they’re really hard to do in that compressed portal timeline. You’re going to miss sometimes.
English

@PostJimmer Yeah, feels like the portal was a missed opportunity for us this year on top of the injuries.
English

@clintcarlos Almost none of those guys stayed at one school for 3 or 4 years. Those days are gone. They’re never coming back. The new model is to get elite talent out of HS if you can and otherwise pull older talent from the portal. But you have to hit on your evals. Easier said than done.
English

True it’s the era of the 1 and done superstar….but look at the Big12 first team selections…very few freshmen.
Jimmer is our best example…didn’t break out til his Jr/Sr campaigns …I’d say Jimmer was a better college player than AJ even though AJ will be better in the NBA.
That should be our archetype…develop guys over a few years to complement our 5-star freshmen that we will keep recruiting.

English

@cougjazzstan He had a 57% true shooting percentage and a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio 🤣 but go off, king
English

@PostJimmer I don’t need an inefficient, turnover prone, undersized guard to muck things up. He was a real disappointment this season. Sorry if you disagree.
English

If your take on this season is “Rob Wright, our all-Big 12 point guard, was awful all year,” maybe log off for a bit.
Brandon Davies Burner@cougjazzstan
@PostJimmer I wonder if they’ll even bring him back. For me, I’m interested in having Mboup and Diomande back in bigger roles, but that’s about it. Everyone else can go, including Rob. He was awful for the majority of the season. Unwatchable game from him tonight.
English

For the millionth time: BYU getting AJ Dybantsa was never just about this year.
Josh Newman@Joshua_Newman
If Texas wins this game, we’re going to have to discuss what BYU paid for this roster and for Dybantsa in order to flame out in the first round. ROI on this season not looking great.
English

@utesfann99 You’re right, it’s been so long since BYU made the Sweet 16. It’s really painful for me. *checks notes* Oh right, that was last year.
English

@PostJimmer 32 million and NBA coach and the best college player for a first round loss. For a fan base who said they were sweet 16 bound 😭😂
English

BYU may never have a freshman as talented as AJ but if we can keep some guys around for 3-4 years, I’m confident we will see more productive seasons from guys in the future. This is the big difference for the teams that consistently play at top 5 level… continuity, juniors and seniors still contributing.
English

@BeardownBenson 100%. If you thought BYU lost tonight because of AJ Dybantsa, I’ll pay for you to get your brain checked. 🤣
English

@utesfann99 Do you have a GIF for “only won 2 conference games and haven’t made the tournament in a decade”? I’ll take one of those please.

@PostJimmer Without Dybantsa, we don't get Bruce Branch. We needed a pioneer and Dybantsa was the perfect player. We have an NBA pipeline engaged.
Now we need to surround these 1 and done players with better talent.
English

@jazzutefan0724 Sure, as a senior. If AJ stayed at BYU for 4 years, he’d likely average 40 as a senior.
English

@PostJimmer As great as AJ is, he’s not The Jimmer. Fredette was the best to ever do it in Provo. Not debatable.
English

@cougjazzstan For sure. Think they thought Xavion could be that extra big. Clear misevaluation. That said, think it was still fine until Keba just inexplicably became a different player halfway through the year.
English

@PostJimmer You’re right, kinda. We needed a big tonight super bad. That dude should have been on the roster before the Villanova game.
The injuries doomed us, yes. But the roster construction was bad even before that.
I hope KY learns and we can have a better year next season.
English

@solofeat I see several guys capable of knocking down open 3s for a team that shot 4/22!
English

@PostJimmer I don't see any bigs on that injury list that know how to box out and not disappear for an entire half in the biggest game of the year ...
English

@mr_queso_man None of those were plays he drew up lol that’s just players trying to make plays
English

@PostJimmer KY continues to disappoint in late game situations.
