✨Here it is!✨ Thrilled to share the cover of my upcoming book Sheher Mein Gaon (Penguin Random House), out this September! This has been both a deeply personal and intellectual journey—tracing Delhi’s urban villages where the past collides with the present, and memory meets reinvention. Can’t wait to share it these stories with you!

As I write the final sections of my book on urban villages of Delhi, I’ve been going through old family archives. That’s my grandparents with their most loved possessions — Maaji with her cow & buffalo, Baba with his scooter. Somewhere in Khirki Extension, early 2000s. I can barely place the streets now — buried under 4-storey buildings and parked cars on every corner. The pace at which urban villages have changed in just two decades is mind-boggling. If I, in my 30s, feel confused and overwhelmed by it sometimes… I wonder how they ever made sense of it at all.
