Reports are that Banks County, who elected to go non-region for the next two years, will NOT play their cross-town rival Commerce for the next two seasons as previously agreed upon. @PotluckFootball

I do not, but here is what the process basically looks like: 1. The GHSA doesn’t appeal “within the same circuit,” but you do file the Notice of Appeal with the clerk of the Superior Court that issued the injunction. That trial court then transfers everything to the State appellate court. 2. Again- You do not appeal within the local judicial circuit. The Notice of Appeal gets forwarded to: • Georgia Court of Appeals — almost all injunction appeals • Supreme Court of Georgia — only if it involves constitutional issues, election matters, or a narrow set of categories No refiling in the circuit. No rehearing with the same judge unless you also file a motion for reconsideration (not required). 3. Prepare the Record & Transcript The Superior Court clerk assembles: •pleadings •exhibits •transcript (if applicable) •the injunction order 4. Briefing at the Appellate Court Once docketed: •Appellant files their brief (GHSA) •Appellee responds (Gainesville) •Optional reply brief No new evidence — only legal arguments attacking the injunction ruling. 5. Court Issues Opinion: those options are - •Affirm the injunction •Reverse it •Vacate and remand •Modify it

Also, in a pre-internet age, Lew served as color commentator for those great Commerce cable television broadcasts of Tiger football games. Lew was a great guy and a Commerce legend. Our potluck prayers and condolences are with @thejoesanders and the entire Sanders family.

After each season's game, the clock was possessed by the victors for one full year. Then each season, during practice (whether welcome or not), Lewis would visit both Commerce and Jefferson to share the importantance and uniqueness of the rivalry with the players and coaches.

Tiger fans, We've lost an all-time Commerce Tiger. Rest in peace Lewis Sanders Lew, pictured from behind in his his legendary tiger striped coat, was an all-state tackle for the Tigers in the early sixties and helped lead Commerce to our first state title game in 1965.
