It's partly Steal A Brainrot (and other *big* UEFN maps) fault. I don't care what anyone thinks, they get paid way too much Good for you that you're getting money, but you're still getting a good part of Epic's pay. Collabs are a massive part too ofc, maybe even more

The downturn in Fortnite engagement that started in 2025 means we're spending significantly more than we're making, and we have to make major cuts to keep the company funded. They don't have a Season OG to release right after these layoffs and start their comeback in popularity.
Tim needs to get it through his balding head that we need FORTNITE, not diet Roblox that is 100+ gigs and is super hard to run.

UEFN is the exact same it was during launch. It has done nothing but hold the game back by becoming a huge money pit. They promised it would be super advanced in years to come, and it's already been THREE YEARS since it launched. I think it's time to scale it down drastically.

I was impacted by today’s layoffs at Epic. Truly came out of nowhere for me. Right before my birthday, too.
I really liked Epic. Really liked the teams. Really liked what we were doing in music. So it’s all a shock.
Time to breathe for a minute. Then onward and upward.

If you enjoyed the maps in C7S2 or C6S3, The Simpsons mini-season map, or IP collabs like KPOP Demon Hunters, Superman, South Park, Doja Cat, and more, I was the Lead Environment Art and/or Environment Concept Producer for them.

its getting a lot harder to get wins nowadays but honestly if it means wins will start meaning something again and i get as excited as i would back in the day, then i'm totally okay with this!

Seeing a lot of complaints but nobody is acknowledging the real issue people have. SBMM is the most balanced it’s ever been, people are getting paired with those on their skill level and losing a majority of games for the first time in years.
