@MindYaOwn19_ We believe publicizing of the games plus Tweets which are 15 second commercials for why you should attend… helps gate receipts and that’s been proven all over town. Their view is that people will stay home and watch it on an iPad to save $8. It’s a difference of opinion.
1) Powell fans, regrettably, we will not be streaming Powell football this season, as the administration has requested a substantial rights fee in order to stream. Our mission is to bring high school games to as many fans as possible & grow the fan base of schools we stream for.
@MindYaOwn19_ Was put in place. But it’s a view that a few schools still hold, so they think they need to be compensated to allow the game to be viewed elsewhere for free. The argument is a logical one but we’ve proven (I think) that streaming and tweets helps gate even tho counterintuitive
@MindYaOwn19_ I don’t think anyone is going to pay them what they are asking. If anyone does it would probably be a th station. They’ve expressed a belief that streaming hurts the gate, where we have demonstrated at multiple schools including Powell that attendance has gone up when streaming
2). It’s not in our budget to pay anything for the broadcasts. We will still call games neutrally between Powell and other DCM schools, and we will keep this account to tweet highlights when Powell is at a DCM school. If anything changes, we’d love to work with Powell again.
