Speaking for myself, not RPS/Board: Few thoughts on 1st night of Hanukkah. 1) It’s never OK to call for the genocide of Jews or ANY group. Never. 2) Israelis and Palestinians both deserve sovereign, free, secure countries of their own. 3) All civilian deaths are abhorrent.

@thptpth First solo drive happened for us just yesterday... we stood glaring from the backdoor muttering about church goers parking on either side of Monument in a curmudgeonly way - though apparently proved useful for the first lap of journey.

Oldest child taking his driver’s license test. 😮😮😮 As I exited the car to make way for the tester, I wanted to say something more helpful than just, “good luck,” but all that came to mind was Ned Flanders going “Godspeed, little doodle.” So I said nothing.

This month in the US, people were shot for ringing the wrong doorbell, getting into the wrong car, using a leaf blower, delivering food to the wrong address, driving into the wrong driveway, and for asking a neighbor to stop shooting so a baby could sleep. It’s the fucking guns.

So…I have a tumor in my stomach. Waiting on more test results, but the good news today is they’re pretty sure there’s only one; they didn’t see any metastases on the CT. So, hope for the best, prepare for the worst, I guess.

As someone who darns their way through depressive episodes, this really struck a cord for me. The Marshall Project keeps me attuned to the true cost of the American dream - folks incarcerated beyond their time with no onward support, and those who should not be inside at all.
