@ElliotIkilei Totally agree. What is your Party going to do about this continuing apartheid creep within tax funded Universities, City Council staff and the Public Service?

Elliot Ikilei - NZ First Candidate
I am deeply disgusted and appalled by the University of Auckland. In their new Department of Cancer Sciences — heavily funded by New Zealand taxpayers — they are calling for expressions of interest in an Associate Head Māori role. Cancer doesn't discriminate — it devastates New Zealanders of every race and background. Yet this department, focused on cancer research, education, and clinical practice, is prioritising race-based leadership to "embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Mātauranga Māori, and equity principles." They want strategic Māori leadership, partnerships with iwi, kaupapa Māori approaches, and a "mana-enhancing" environment — all while the disease itself demands the best science, not racial positions. This is offensive, morally bankrupt, and a betrayal of patients fighting for their lives. Taxpayers should not be funding separatism and identity politics in life-saving cancer research and care. It puts identity politics ahead of merit, excellence, and equal care for all Kiwis. Enough of this divisive agenda in our universities and health sciences. We need one standard for all New Zealanders — no race-based roles in cancer care or research. Party Vote NZ First. We will finish the job. He Iwi Tahi Tātou. Trump has entered "revenge mode" on Iran... -Per the WSJ, Trump unloaded in a recent Oval Office meeting, calling Iranian leaders scumbags and lunatics, according to a person who heard it -A senior administration official says Trump believes force is the only thing Iran understands and sees few options besides continuing strikes -Top aides have been warned by intelligence agencies that Iranians are trying to kill them, and told to stop using car services Kushner and Witkoff still believe a deal is reachable, while other advisers have given up on one -The coalition is splitting publicly, with Laura Ingraham warning the "clock is ticking" to the midterms and Bannon saying "Netanyahu has led us into a horrible conflict filled with lies" -Leavitt's defense: Iran signed the MOU, broke it, shot at ships and killed American soldiers, and will keep paying until it comes to the table meaningfully. -Rep. Michael McCaul put the turn plainly: Trump thinks he gave peace a chance and is going back to Plan A. That's a president who spent five months hunting an exit concluding there isn't one. @aniobrien That masterful comment by Shane Jones perfectly reflected what most people think about Luxon. That the lefties and media go crazy over it only reinforces its cleverness. What fun.

Interesting that Hipkins decided Shane Jones comments were about "oral sex" when someone whose mind wasn't in the gutter might have understood them to be about grovelling on one's knees.

@gaye_ess Politicians will do or say anything to gather enough votes to stay in power. Their behaviour is way worse than used car salesmen. About the same level as your average lawyer creating billable hours. 🤣🤣🤣

Labour Demands Paul Henry Resign After Historic 105 km/h "Speeding Scandal" Wellington — Labour's transport spokesperson Tangi Utikere has called on ACT Party candidate Paul Henry to immediately resign from politics after explosive allegations emerged that he once travelled at 105 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on a New Zealand motorway. The incident, reportedly occurring "at some point in the past", has sent shockwaves through the political establishment. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, the spokesperson said the matter raised "serious questions about judgment, accountability, and respect for speed limit signage." "Aotearoa Whanau expect those seeking public office to obey every road sign with absolute precision. If Mr Henry was prepared to travel at 105, what's next? 106? Where does it end?" Labour MPs described the alleged five-kilometre-per-hour excess as "deeply troubling" and called for an urgent cross-party inquiry into whether any momentum was gained while travelling downhill. Green Party MPs reportedly expressed concern over the environmental impact of arriving at a destination approximately seven seconds earlier than expected. Chloe Swarbrick demand a fast response saying "Aotearoa is already far below the expectations of the Net Zero targets, this blatant abuse of carbon is detrimental to trade". The ACT Party dismissed the criticism as "politics reaching terminal velocity." David Seymour was asked whether the party still had confidence in Henry. "Look, if every New Zealander who accidentally drifted to 105 had to resign, Parliament would need to be replaced by hitchhikers." Political commentators noted the controversy comes just days after Parliament spent several hours debating crime, the economy, housing, healthcare and infrastructure, before abruptly shifting national attention to what one analyst described as "the most aggressively average speeding allegation in modern history." Waka Kotahi declined to comment on any specific individual but reminded motorists that speed limits are legal limits, while also quietly acknowledging that speedometers, tyre size and road gradients can introduce small variations. Meanwhile, social media erupted, with hashtags including #FiveOver, #HighwayToResignation, and #JusticeForCruiseControl trending across Aotearoa.

Exactly but we do have much lower levels of corruption among politicians and no political issues have global implications. Obama, H Clinton and even senile J Biden were all as corrupt as they come. Hopefully Obama will feel the full force of the justice system. The DOJ have the evidence unlike the earlier 'Trumped' up charges.

Questions for Stuart Nash.... Why would you text a sworn enemy of NZ First? Why would you do it at midnight? Why would you use incorrect information about the length of maternity leave Katey Nimon took? Why did you not see that Finlayson would use this against you and the party? Why would you do this to Winston Peters, who took a chance on you? You sent the message to Finlayson on July 14. Why do this a few days before the NZ First conference where you would be presented as a Candidate? You had days before the conference to go to the media before he released it, apoligise, notify the party that it was coming. You did nothing. Why?

Luxon still supports this form of energy. Apart from the landfill issue way more CO2 is produced building and erecting each turbine than is saved from the energy it produces over its 20 year life. Similarly with cost of manufacture and erection compared with savings producing energy. Plus you need massive battery storage which also has a limited life and disposal problems because it is full of toxic metals and chemicals. The turbines also destroy our beautiful landscape and scenery. At every conceivable level they are a complete waste of time and money. Only complete nutters would support this form of intermittent energy. Looking at you PM Luxon.

Wind Turbine Blades Are Non-Recyclable
Peter Clack@PeterDClack

Discarded wind turbine blades equal to the volume of 215,000 steel locomotives will need to be recycled, incinerated or sent to landfill sites by 2050. This crisis is no longer a distant possibility set somewhere in the future. It's already happening, and a massive wave of early-generation turbines is reaching its end-of-life. By then, there will be 1.3 million decommissioned turbine blades weighing as much as 43 million tons. These blades are made of high-strength composite material designed to survive decades of brutal weather, and are notoriously difficult to recycle. They were built to last, but they weren't built to disappear into thin air. The European wind industry has already enacted a landfill ban on decommissioned blades from January 1, 2026. Panic is spreading about where to put them — because a blade recycling infrastructure doesn't exist yet. There is a growing repugnance at the thought of creating endless turbine blade graveyards despoiling our fields and hillsides. In France, at least 55% of a rotor blade’s mass must be recycled or reused, effective since January 2025. While European industry groups have pushed for a blade landfill ban, the reality is that recycling these polymers costs up to $2,000 per ton — compared to just $60 to dump them in landfills. The infrastructure simply doesn't exist to handle the volume. Without a cost-effective, workable way to recycle fibre-reinforced polymers, the majority of them are destined for blade graveyards somewhere. Or they will have to be stockpiled indefinitely everywhere blade landfilling has been banned. China, Europe, and the US will account for the vast majority of this waste, creating a mountainous industrial heartache that many Net Zero models simply haven't priced in. Or has anyone even thought about it yet?
