The last time a Congressman protested shirtless, we got this country and with it, the right to free speech. A reminder: The Indian Youth Congress not a fringe element. It is the principal opposition’s youth wing exercising a constitutional right! Security cordons, mass arrests, for a non-violent protest is not governance at all. It is colonial-era policing with a 2025 coat of paint. We didn’t throw out the British to build this Constitution only for us to dismantle it ourselves.

The edifice of Hindutva always rested on Hindu unity & elimination of caste differences among Hindus- be it the work of Savarkar in Ratnagiri from 1924 or the efforts of Guruji Golwalkar to get the entire sant samaj to adopt the resolution 'Hindavaha sahodara sarve, na Hindu patitho bhavet'(all Hindus are brethren & none is 'fallen') in 1966-69. The eerie echoes of the aborted Communal Violence of the UPA era are hard to miss for any sensible person.
