@AdamMcKola Ye when city moved from 3rd to 2nd gear and couldn’t be arsed, anything after 3-0 doesn’t count

Kobbie changed our performance immediately. Helps us in transition, quality on the ball. Starts on the bench though for Ugarte who can't pass wind. Sigh.

If that doesn’t make Amorim aware that he needs to be flexible in his system and change, then he may as well go now. Feel pat n mick

United legends starting to sound like some West Indies legends. Their relevance is linked to talking about themselves and their teams of their era as opposed to offering any good insight about the current team and paths to restore former pride.

It has become a familiar sight while watching Manchester United recently: Andre Onana launching the ball from goal kicks and in open play, rather than trying to build up from the back with short passes. Onana’s distribution was a big factor in his move from Inter and, although there have been mistakes in possession along the way, the 28-year-old is a lot more confident with the ball at his feet than his United predecessor David de Gea was. He still plays short the majority of the time but it is striking how often a goalkeeper who was signed to revolutionise #MUFC's build-up play is now simply leathering the ball forward. This season, only five Premier League goalkeepers have ‘launched’ more of their passes — Opta defines this as when a goalkeeper plays a “high ball into space or an area for players to chase or challenge”, at a distance longer than 40 yards. Of those five, just Crystal Palace’s Dean Henderson has a lower completion rate than Onana, who has only found one of his team-mates around a quarter of the time with such passes. @mjcritchley and @anantaajith 🔗 nytimes.com/athletic/62215…
