Help me find my good friends at ladoke Akintola University 2004/2005 final year students. At ladoke Akintola University in the year 2004 I was squatting at red roof hostel with these 2 born again brilliant iwo girls, I was very friendly with the boys in the hostel. They go bring stolen chicken, I’ll kill it and make it for them, they bring any kind of meat, I’m the cook, and we always step it down with small stouts, it was fun for me, I had been on the street since age 18 huzzling for money and now I traveled with good cash and not depending on no one made me feel like I own my life. These guys liked me so well, medical students, engineering, architecturals and cos, brilliant guys ooo. I’m actually sapiosexual(I like friends who are brilliant), They liked me and these 2 girls just had this weird behaviour like I’m devils first born, they avoided me like a plague because I drink odeku, I just ignore them. One day my cell phone was stolen, in less than 48hrs all the boys searched, they found the guy who stole it and he’s sold it already, the guys bought another brand new phone of the same phone. I had so much faith and confidence in them as I feel so safe, funny enough, they all protected me like a little sister as most of them were in 400l and some final year. Then a guy who barely talk to no one, called me, and ask me to make vegetable soup for him, joyfully I told him to buy the cooking items from sabo that I will make it, I never knew he liked me, so I told the guys, they screamed ahhhh, Damola is a final year architectural student almost leaving school. They said he never for once dated any girl on campus and he barely speak to people, this is how I got close to Damola and he asked me out, ehhh, unfortunately I have a boyfriend who was in kogi state university so I couldn’t commit to Damola, but he invited me to his family house in Ibadan after he graduated and his families were too calm, polite, both parents are teachers, I realized he owns a car himself, and all I hear them say is Damola’s girlfriend, I asked him why? He said they’ve never seen him with a girl before, I told him, Damola forget it, me I can’t marry you oo, I couldn’t proceed with my nursing program as my money finished and my focus was to return to ikeja to continue hustle, the guys came looking for me after they’ve graduated at ikeja, and I miss that I lost my sim then so I couldn’t connect back with those guys, Tope was a medical doctor after graduating 2006, Damola got a fantastic job with an official apartment and a car, he invited me over, I said, sorry, I’m not interested, my boyfriend then no get nothing. 😂 but I like these guys as friends. They were real!!! One thing about my younger days was that I never liked church folks because of how they treat people like us that drink and enjoy our life without any fear, they see us as bad but many of them will be amazed to know I’m a believer now, so I realized Jesus Christ isn’t whom they were projecting then. I stopped drinking odeku, in the year 2016 after an encounter. Reasons I naturally love being friends with tagged sinners than those who tag themselves as righteous. I have the skill, but I’m being judged for how you created me The earliest I get home from work is 11 p.m., sometimes 2a.m. Yet, after every long day, I would open YouTube and watch videos on documentary photography: how to improve composition, how to see better angles, and refine my editing skills. Most times I sleep off while learning. YouTube became my silent mentor. I was determined not to disappoint my principal who believed in me. I didn’t just start showing up, I started showing up with intentionality and gradually, my belief in myself deepened! Soon, the narrative changed, from She can’t handle the Governor’s public photographs to Make sure Motun is there and other beautiful accolades followed. So if they say you can’t do it, maybe it’s simply your cue to focus more on yourself and on that passion God has placed in your hands. Hard work is louder than doubt. It silences criticism, reshapes perception, and commands respect. Keep showing up and keep improving, because when preparation meets consistency, even impossibilities begin to salute your effort💪 #themotunglobal
