This Week, the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee reviewed seven peptides for the 503A compounding list. Day one: BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, MOTS-c ; all recommended, each over the objection of the FDA's own staff scientists. Day two: Semax and Epitalon recommended - DSIP rejected. That rejection matters more than the six approvals. It means the committee wasn't rubber-stamping. They said yes where the evidence supported it and no where it didn't; in public, on the record. That's exactly the standard this category has been missing. It's also the standard we build to. Our BPC-157 patch was independently tested by Miraxis Labs in San Diego using UHPLC-DAD, certified by two PhD scientists: 95.5% chromatographic purity, 2.02 mg quantified dose per patch. Here's the part getting lost in the celebration. During the meeting, FDA staff described a problem they keep running into: substances sold as BPC-157 that turn out to contain different active molecules entirely. Same name on the label, different thing in the vial. That's not an argument against peptides. It's an argument for verification; and verification is a document, not a claim. Yesterday the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted to recommend BPC-157, KPV, TB-500 and MOTS-c for the 503A bulk drug substances list; the framework that lets licensed pharmacies compound medication for one named patient against one prescription. BPC-157, KPV and TB-500 each went 8–6 with one abstention. The panel did it over the objection of agency reviewers, whose briefing documents had recommended against all seven.
