Wise remarks from @Panos_Zannettos with regard to #Eurovision. Especially this: "Austria got lucky with the extreme disagreement between the 2 constituencies & the massive amount of PV pts predeterminedly reserved for a couple of others for non-musical reasons."

@ge_aldrig_upp That 'national language' to me is a clear sign of more conservatism happening in all of Europe. I even dare to say that acts like 🇲🇹'25 & 🇫🇮'25 could've fared better like 7 years ago. Televoters and jurors feel warmer when there's less 'naked' and more 'national identity'.

@PredictorJury I think the environment regulates itself and big props will always be part of ESC (as ESC is, at its heart, a contest of music adapted to TV). But I'd be wary of discounting this trend which I feel is bubbling under like the "national language" one was until a couple years ago

@ge_aldrig_upp Ooowh absolutely! I totally agree with you here. 🇩🇪'10, 🇵🇹'17, 🇳🇱'19 & even 🇮🇹'21 are a long time ago now. There's a tendency within the EBU for embracing such complex stage prop acts more warmly (just rewatch some interval acts: blatant stage prop promos).

@PredictorJury It's a bit of a dog-eating-its-tail issue because the last three winners all have been written by people within the bubble, for the bubble, and all have relied on complex stage acts. Hard to state as a definite conclusion that this "authenticity" push is gonna be fruitful soon

I think we've arrived at a critical moment where the producer decided running order is one of three competition fundamentals (☎️&👥 the other two) that needs to be decapitated entirely. 2/2

@Daniel81651727 @Panos_Zannettos Nah: they were adamant on a victory for either 🇸🇪 or 🇫🇷. Björkman must have thought it was an easier victory for these two favorites in the running order positions #19 and higher. But pairing them thís way backfired on him. It created a lacklustre flow too. 1/2

@PredictorJury Other than Austria, this year most "complex" stagings were paid dust by the televote. I feel the "common wisdom" is pushing towards simpler, more traditional performances and I think within the next 3 years we will get a winner with a staging as barebones as 🇩🇪 2010

@Daniel81651727 @Panos_Zannettos Yeah, but this year’s juries on the whole gave less points to the TOP 10 compared to previous years (1.477 points in 2025 for the Jury TOP 10, 1.709 points in 2024 for the Jury TOP 10, 1.539 points in 2023 for the Jury TOP 10, 1.806 points for the Jury TOP 10 in 2022)🤷‍♂️.

@PredictorJury @Panos_Zannettos Much more it was lucky that neither Tommy and KAJ smashed the tele in the same way of Kaarija and BL with also consequent very low jury scores, if both reached the 200+ on jury and 300+ on tele the outcome would had been very different in the final
