Proper 4-2-2-2 from Slot. Szoboszlai and Wirtz double 10s. Salah receiving closer to the box as a striker instead of being asked to hold width which he’s declining at. Instinct is that this is a good system change from Slot.

The killer 4th goal is clever from Flick. Howe is going man to man so: A) position Raphinha & Yamal as the highest men as they have the best final pass B) Lewa drags a CB deep to create space for Fermín C) Let Fermín explode from deep as he can outrun his man-marker Dismantled.

@PremLeaguePanel But it's always been the weak point for Liverpool this season. Especially in settled play more goals have come due to poor defending or poor positioning from those playing wide right.

As stated yesterday,Liverpool have seemingly unfixable out of possession issues under Slot now. But in possession, there is a standout XI that Slot should use: Alisson Frimpong Konaté VVD Kerkez Gravenberch Szoboszlai Salah Wirtz Ngumoha Ekitike

@iwuohaduna15 Waffleeee. Frimpong has been good at RB and is better there arriving onto play than at RW. Salah needs support from a runner at RW now. And this is the only way to get to whilst still playing Wirtz at 10

@PremLeaguePanel Frimpong is terrible at playing as a RB and will get cooked against a good LW, then Szobo moves to RB and MacAllister comes in and the whole idea goes out the water

@Beejaysport Not at all. And the most crucial part is a Gravenberch Szoboszlai Wirtz central trio instead of the empty shirt that currently starts every game there

@PremLeaguePanel Agreed, but that front 3 might be the worst pressing trio in history.

Slot’s out of possession plan is too passive during the first half of matches. And actually his training methods seem to have also declined the fitness of the whole squad which means they can’t run past 70 minutes. This double effect is allowing even the worst teams in the league to get results vs Liverpool. His new contract talks have been paused (1 year left on his deal) and he will now be sacked in the summer.

Aston Villa are sadly too limited by their attacking options. Not enough funds which led to them scrabbling around for likes of Tammy, Sancho & Guessand as their attacking buys. Watkins decline has made that situation look critically poor. But do think they should change their attacking recruitment despite their financial issues - Tammy & Guessand combined cost £44m. Should focus their money towards one higher quality buy instead of two and get CL quality thru the door that way. Supplement the other places with academy/cheap buys.

Nuno’s coaching performances vs Chelsea,Man Utd & Man City in this last period have been superb. Only thing that stops West Ham from staying up is how average their strikers are (even new ones Castellanos & Felipe). But he’s found a tactical formula. Also need Summerville back.

Chelsea have CB issues but their current unit of midfielders will never be top level defensively. Collectively they do not screen nor do they press well enough.
