@bballdad44745 @MLB He didn’t pass the eye test…But he could hit with wood and had a unique ability to handle adversity. That’s the beauty of this game. Doesn’t matter how you got there. If you produce you stay!!

@OdenwaelderMike In this recruiting/over recruiting landscape I think it’s great you have a JV team. It’s better than getting cut! It’s very rare for a freshman to get a lot of playing time at any college. JV team is a huge bonus.

PSA to HS recruits: Do your homework on schools recruiting you. This week alone, 2 schools told recruits all our freshmen only play JV—false. We started a freshman arm vs one of them 2 years ago… and he beat them. Don’t take every coach’s word as gospel. Check the stats!

@_coachrachel I would say if you want to play in college you should start focusing on development (getting better) as early as you can. For most players actual recruiting will really start summer of Soph year. But you should be training in anticipation.

Recruiting does NOT start at 16U or sophomore year of high school… It starts WAY earlier — more like 12U (or even 10U) with development, training & exposure. When people say they’re waiting to move to a national team or schedule until sophomore/junior year “to save money”… it’s usually already too late for 95% of athletes. Start EARLY. Train HARD. Play the BEST. 💯

@D3SportsData The MLB draft models also de value D3 stats. Too bad. I used to love drafting D3 guys

Since 2000, over 300 DIII Baseball players have been drafted by MLB teams. As the number of rounds has progressively decreased over the years from 50 down to 20, the expected number of DIII draftees seems to have settled around two to four each year. #d3data #d3sports #d3baseball

Congrats to @tgsports super team selection @MarkGarner233 . He is not only the best hitter I have coached in my 25 years with Leominster Baseball but he is also a true outlier when it comes to work ethic and leadership. Make is a special talent.

@bballdad44745 Davis has been undervalued since High School. Not big enough, Not fast enough, No real position, he just smiles and keeps working. Keeps proving people wrong. He loves this game and it shows.
