Remembrance Day at Denstone College is a solemn and important occasion that honours the sacrifices made by former pupils, staff, and community members from Denstone College and Smallwood Manor who served in the armed forces. Today, the Prep and Lower School Pupils held a ceremony to pay respects to those who lost their lives in conflicts, especially focusing on alumni who served in the World Wars. Pupils, parents and staff gathered to reflect on the meaning of the day, listen to readings, and offer prayers. End of Term Event Parking Today and tomorrow, we'll be hosting a series of events to celebrate the end of the academic year. We kindly request that all parents make use of the parking available on our Far New sports pitches. These are located on the right side as you enter the grounds from the main drive. Please note that the only appropriate entrance to this parking area is adjacent to the Tookey’s/Derbyshire building. With many guests visiting during these two days, we ask that you park considerately to accommodate all Denstone College families who will be joining us.

**Important Update** At the end of this academic year, Tracey Davies will be retiring from her post as Head of The Prep at Denstone College. Tracey has been a truly pivotal leader in the establishment of The Prep here in Denstone and the smooth transition from Smallwood Manor was made possible by her tireless desire to do the very best for the children. She has more than established this school as a leading Prep School and I know pupils, staff and parents will be sorry to see her leave. We will have ample opportunity in the remaining months to thank her for her work and to wish her well in her next adventures. I am delighted to be able to confirm Mrs Liz Scott as the new Head of The Prep; Liz will take up her post in September 2024. Mrs Scott is the current Deputy Head and has been instrumental in driving The Prep forward since she joined us in 2022. Prior to her time here at The Prep, Liz was Director of Studies at S. Anselm’s Prep School and has 15 years’ experience in educational leadership. Any change can be disruptive and we hope to minimise this where at all possible. Appointing such a strong candidate from within reassures us that we are in very safe hands for a continued future of excellence. There will be plenty of opportunities in the near future to meet with Mrs Liz Scott and to hear her plans for the development and future of The Prep, but in the meantime, I am sure you will join me in congratulating her on this most deserved appointment. @PrepDenstone
