🧹 LIONS SWEEP FOR 20th WIN, PREPARED FOR PLAYOFFS 🧹 St. Andrew’s closed out the regular season in historic fashion Saturday, sweeping Thomas Jefferson Academy (12-9) to finish 20–10, marking the 1st 20-win season in program history. Before game 1, former Head Coach Scott “Ab” Abernathy threw out the 1st pitch as he was honored for his years of service and lasting impact on the St. Andrew’s community. Despite rain that pushed back the start and continued throughout the doubleheader, the Lions were able to finish their inaugural regular season on the new turf field with a sweep. In game 1, St. Andrew’s won 5–2 behind Player of the Game Ellis Kelley. @ellis_kell85557 The Lions jumped ahead early with a 3-run 1st inning before E. Kelley delivered a 2-out, 2-run single in the 4th to extend the lead. On the mound, E. Kelley earned the win, allowing just 1 run over 5 innings while striking out 8. Jacob Navare came on in relief and closed the door to earn the save. In game 2, the Lions completed the sweep with a 7–2 win behind Player of the Game Lanford Harris. Harris earned the win after throwing 5 innings, allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, while striking out 6. Jack Kelley @jackkelley04 finished the final 2 innings scoreless in relief to earn the save. Offensively, St. Andrew’s scored 2 runs in the 1st before taking control in the 3rd with 4 straight bunts to score 3 more. The 2026 regular season will be remembered as a defining step forward for St. Andrew’s baseball program. After winning just 3 games last season, the Lions responded with a new turf field, new uniforms, and a new mindset, completely flipping the script with the first 20-win season in program history establishing a new standard for the program in the process. St. Andrew’s now turns its attention to the postseason for the 1st time since 2019. Final GIAA @giaasports power rankings will be released Monday morning, determining the Lions’ 1st-round opponent and location. The opening round will be a best-of-three series, with games 1 & 2 set for Friday, May 8th, and game 3, if necessary, on Saturday, May 9th. #TABB #LionsSweep #LionsBaseball @Savannah_SAS @sassportsinfo @DennisKnightSMN @PrepSav @AmyZimmerWJCL

Who knew a Pepsi would mean so much? Calvary Day's Chol Kiir Chol Deng signed to play college basketball at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Friday. Chol came to the United States four years ago after growing up in East Africa. When he first arrived, he and his new guardians stopped for gas where Chol asked "Can I have a Pepsi?" From that point on, Pepsi remained at his house for the past four years. Turns out it was a simple Pepsi bottle, that made him feel close to home back in Africa. Afterall, Pepsi has a major presence in Africa. Fast forward to his visit at Mississippi Gulf Coast, he was surprised to find out they had brought out a ton of Pepsi, including a pyramid made of several Pepsi cans. That's what won him over and now he looks to fulfill his dream of playing basketball in the USA. In hopes of providing for his family back home @CHOLkiirchol @Cavalier_Sports @WTOC11
