But if I were to head to the UK, grab a patch of uninhabited land and populate it with Argentinians, would it suddenly become Argentine soil? Naturally, if you ask the islanders today who they'd rather belong to, they'll say the UK, given that several generations of British folk have lived there. It seems the British are the ultimate squatters. They move into a place that isn't theirs and act as if simply being there for a long time grants them ownership.
