What a week we had to kick off the semester. We welcomed our newest Seahawks and continued a tradition of signing the President's Book; we celebrated the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the annual prayer celebration; and we had snow the night before classes began.

Heartfelt thanks to all who embraced SMCM's Giving Tuesday event. It was a remarkable show of support and helped contribute to our Taking the LEAD Campaign. We achieved tremendous success with over 4,000 donors generously contributing nearly $385,000 to support our students.

Welcome first year students! I love seeing the efforts of our student organizations, student-athletes and SMCM employees as they help make this day easier for our new Seahawks and their families.
