Booker T. Washington High School opened in 1924 as Atlanta's first public secondary school for black students. The school was named for Booker T. Washington, an influential educator who founded Tuskegee Institute. The school was designated as a landmark Oct.14, 1989.

Official! The c. 1951 Paces Ferry Tower was officially listed in the National Register of Historic Places on November 30th. Today home to the Sylvan Hotel, this Buckhead building was designed in the International Style. Congratulations to Portman Holdings & all those involved!
