Today, we honour the life and legacy of Justice Murray Sinclair, whose leadership of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission challenged Canada to confront its history and seek a path forward. His work inspires @LoyalistCollege as we continue our own journey of reconciliation.

Today, I join our Loyalist community in wearing orange for Orange Shirt Day. It’s a day to honour the victims and survivors of residential schools and commit to Truth and Reconciliation as not just words but calls to action.

I'm deeply grateful to the Tsi Titewaya'taró:roks team for leading our college community in today's Truth and Reconciliation Week opening fire ceremony at @LoyalistCollege. Your guidance during Truth and Reconciliation week and through the 4-Seasons of Reconciliation is helping our community take meaningful steps forward.

After a refreshing break, I’m excited to be back at @LoyalistCollege this weekend for residence move-in and orientation! I’m always proud to represent Loyalist in any corner of the globe that I get the opportunity to visit, and I’m looking forward to being back in Ontario to welcome our new and returning Loyalist students to Belleville, Port Hope, Toronto and Tyendinaga this semester.

Throughout July, we met with councils and community leaders in Picton, Bancroft, Wollaston, Tweed, Stirling-Rawdon, Cramahe, and Brighton. These discussions are vital for Loyalist College to enhance our support and respond to the unique needs of each community. Excited for the dialogue ahead!

As we head into another busy back-to-school season, I want to thank the municipal councils and community leaders I had the pleasure of meeting this summer. This week, we met with stakeholders from Trent Hills, Cobourg, and Port Hope, whose insights are invaluable as we explore how Loyalist College can better support and strengthen our wide-reaching community.

Congratulations to the 38th graduating cohort of the Elevate Plus program! Your hard work and dedication have prepared you for exciting opportunities in the Bay of Quinte Region's manufacturing and food processing sectors. Proud of how this collaboration between @LoyalistCollege, @QuinteEcDev, @ONTatwork, and our industry partners is making a real difference. Here's to your future success!

Our Loyalist College community is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Shannan Hickey, a Loyalist alumna and dedicated nurse at Belleville General Hospital. Our condolences go out to her family and the QHC community. We strongly condemn intimate partner violence and reaffirm our commitment to advocating for safety and respect for all. This tragedy must galvanize us to action against such violence.
