💔My younger brother called me yesterday and said: “Please don't be angry, but I need your advice” I asked what happened. He said his wife gave birth 3 weeks ago and they've been arguing ever since. Apparently, during her pregnancy, she lost her job. So for almost a year, my brother paid the rent, hospital bills, feeding, baby items, transportation, everything. Last week, his wife received a call from a company she had interviewed with months ago. They offered her a job and everyone was excited. But problem started when she got her first salary. My brother said he casually asked what she planned to do with it. She replied: “It's my money. I've suffered enough. I want to enjoy my salary for once” He laughed and thought she was joking but she wasn’t. A few days later, she bought a new phone, expensive wigs, clothes and booked a spa appointment. Meanwhile, according to him, their rent expires in two months and the baby's hospital bills are still hanging. He said he wasn't expecting her to hand over her entire salary. But he felt hurt that after carrying the family alone for so long, she didn't even think of contributing anything voluntarily. When he complained, she got angry and said: “Just because you helped your family doesn't mean I owe you my salary” Now both families have joined the matter. The wife's family says she's entitled to enjoy the first salary she has earned after months of pregnancy and childbirth. My brother's family says marriage is partnership, not a place where one person carries all the burden while the other spends freely. They're both refusing to apologize and I’m confused here. He asked me last night: “Am I wrong for feeling hurt… or is she right to enjoy her first salary like this because I’m new in marriage. Is this how it is?💔” I don’t even know what to tell him. What would you do in his position?

@Her_Nonymous_D He is a man. Their own audacity is on steroids, especially around women. They usually just feel they can do and undo and nothing you can do about it. Imagine if it wasn't your husband but a female friend.

“There aren’t any other tables.” Okay… and? He still didn’t move. By now people nearby were starting to watch. Then my husband came back carrying our drinks. He stopped, looked at the guy sitting at our table, and asked, “Everything alright here?” Before I could answer, the man said, “I just needed somewhere to sit.” My husband looked at him and calmly replied, “Then find a table that isn’t already occupied.” The guy immediately went quiet. A couple of people nearby laughed, and after an awkward few seconds, he grabbed his phone and finally got up. I’m still wondering where he ordered his audacity from.

I was at a busy coffee shop with my husband one afternoon. We grabbed one of the last open tables, and he went to order while I stayed behind with our things. A few minutes later, a random man walked over, pulled out a chair, and sat directly across from me. No “Is this seat taken?” No “Can I sit here?” He just went ahead and sat down. I looked up and said, “Sorry, this table is occupied.” He glanced at me, pulled out his phone, and completely ignored me. Thinking he hadn’t heard me, I said it again, louder. “This table is taken. My husband is sitting there.” This man actually sighed and said……

@Agbasimere83811 So she was obligated to have sex with him as reward for buying her food or what? Sometimes, we women are our own problem and you my, dear, are not a very good friend, to be so unsure as to ask this question.

I once followed a friend to meet a guy she was in the talking stage with. When we got there, he told us to order whatever we wanted. I kept mine simple. My friend? Omo, she ordered like she was preparing for a food shortage. 😂 After we ate and they talked for a while, the guy suggested they go to an apartment he had arranged. My friend immediately got upset and refused. That's when the guy called the waiter and said: "Everyone should pay for what they ordered." My bill was about 30k. My friend's was about 280k. 💀 The atmosphere changed instantly. That day, I learned a valuable lesson: If you're not interested in a man, don't go and eat his entire salary. And if you're afraid to meet him alone, stay in your house and leave me out of it. 😭 But tell me honestly... Was the guy wrong for asking us to pay our own bills after being rejected? 👀

Funny how some Yoruba voices are saying Adeboye is 84 and too old to speak about the state of the country. Yet the same people had no problem insulting Pa Adebanjo at 96, even in death because he spoke against Tinubu. So is age only a problem when you disagree with someone’s views? The double standard is obvious.

The same RCCG that many people say would not ordain you as a pastor if your spouse is not a member of the church is the same RCCG that ordained Remi Tinubu as a pastor despite her husband not being a Christian. We're not calling out that church enough.

The mother pleaded with the court to stop her ex-husband from seeing their daughters. The judge denied her. He killed all three children. Yet somehow, the blame is still placed on the mother. It is no surprise this article was written by a man.

@kiara7829 Society just always shame women and that's the bottom line. To think of the high number of women who are even doing it against their will makes it terribly sad.

In my days, we used to call it Muslim, but yeah, sure, “Islamic women”! I was one. I was subjugated and dehumanized and traumatized my whole life. I was forced into hijab at age 6 to control men’s lust towards little girls’s bodies. I was told I was half a man and was half-brained and needed to have a male guardian for my whole life to decide if I can get an education or work or travel or get married. I was assaulted by Muslim men my whole life and told it was my fault for being a woman. I was educated in Islam and learned to read Quran and understand it at school. What benefits? Being dehumanized and told that it’s for my own good? Being treated as half a man with no autonomy and dignity? If you are that stupid to believe this is “appreciation” or “respect”, I have a bridge to sell you! I don’t need to “compare” because I have already survived that violence and misogyny. I know what I am talking about and your pathetic attempt at gaslighting would make me laugh if women were still subjected to the same 7th century, barbaric, violent ideology in 57 countries around the world. Keep the benefits. I keep my dignity and autonomy as a full human!
