Picked up what is now the second most expensive used book I've ever purchased ($70). This one is from around 1972, and in wonderful condition. Started reading it today, and it's nice to have texts like this to see how people wrote about, at the time, brand new technologies.

Expertise does matter. Autodidaction is deeply flawed in almost all cases and it’s easy to fool oneself. There is no substitute to formal study or spending many years working in a field. There are things you can’t learn online.

@TomcatJunkie I’ve never understood why people travel with kids too young to even understand that they’re on a plane. When I went to New England last summer, there was a couple across the aisle with a screaming toddler for the entire 4 hour flight, and they just ignored him for most of it.

I wish that LEGO would do away with their stupid “No Military Sets” rule. Imagine how cool that would be. What patriotic young American wouldn’t want an M1 Abrams, a Nimitz aircraft carrier, or a F35 fighter jet to build?
