The University failed to adequately acknowledge legitimate concerns by the student body. We further condemn the lack of transparency in the investigation process by the University.

Despite representations made by us and the Interim Student Body (@BodyNluj), we recieved no response. No information was given to us by the University about the constitution of a expert committee, who the members are and what the contents of their report is.

Anjana Harish was forced to undergo conversion therapy and took her own life. She was a victim of an institutional murder. We stand with Anjana. We stand with the numerous individuals who lost their lives to queerphobia. We unequivocally condemn conversion therapy

Conversion therapy takes a deep toll on an individual's physical and mental health. Techniques include electric shock treatment, hormonal treatment, administration of nausea inducing drugs and "spiritual interventions" It is a deeply harmful pseudoscience

Today is the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. Today, it's important to severely condemn conversion therapy and stand in solidarity with members of the community who have been forced through it. TW: conversion therapy, suicide

The Draft Rules provides the forms for official recognition and the procedure one must follow for the same. It provides broad guidelines for the integration of these provisions into existing Acts and Rules as well as existing educational and social security schemes. (11/n)

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is presently inviting comments on the draft Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Rules, 2020. It must be sent to tg.welfare-msje@gov.in by 18th May 2020. This thread will explain the controversial Act and related developments.
