I hope they wouldn't stay such a distance from the lion just because the local paper or park mgmt said so? Wildlife actions can't be easily predicted; some can sense bad energy around and react differently, as seen in elephant before in the park. If anyone tells you that distance is safe for you around bison, sorry, it's a setup.

I call out Yellowstone "tourons" all the time because it's usually the animals who pay the price for people's stupidity, but this ain't it.
