Brief (a Pakistani website that closely tracks the country’s economic situation):
The Government of Pakistan this week announced what it described as an “$8 billion lifeline” from Saudi Arabia. Before celebrating, it is important to understand what these figures actually represent.
Out of the $8 billion, $5 billion is a “rollover”—meaning funds that were already held in Pakistan’s central bank, which Saudi Arabia has simply agreed to keep in place rather than withdraw. The remaining $3 billion is a new deposit in the central bank, but this too is essentially a loan. Meanwhile, Pakistan is due to repay $3.5 billion to the United Arab Emirates this month. If you do the math, the country’s net new liquidity is around $2 billion—and even that comes not as investment, but in the form of debt.
This is not surprising for Pakistanis, who have observed such patterns for decades. Governments announce figures that are technically accurate, but deliberately structured to appear transformational. Old loans are combined with new inflows and presented as an increase in reserves. Headlines are made, political capital is gained, but the underlying financial situation remains largely unchanged.
Saudi Arabia’s motives are also worth noting. This assistance is as much about maintaining its regional position and influence over a strategic partner as it is about generosity. This is not cynicism—it is simply how sovereign finance works.

Salman Akram Raja: 78 years have passed since the creation of Pakistan, but to this day not even a single factory has been built in Balochistan; the livelihood of the people there depended on trade with Afghanistan and Iran, which has now also been closed for them. The current government has no plan to rebuild the public economy and is only running the system by taking a few dollars in loans from one country or another. Those traders who used to survive by importing dry fruits and vegetables from Afghanistan are now dying of hunger; in this society, the rich keep getting richer while the poor are crushed underfoot. Imran Khan has repeatedly highlighted this fact that in a country where there is no justice and fairness, the poor class is oppressed. In the current crisis situation, despite the presence of previous fuel reserves, petrol and diesel prices have been increased only for profit, as a result of which 19 billion rupees were taken out of the public’s pockets in just one week and went into the bellies of oil companies.

Tehran’s Refusal and Islamabad’s Insistence
After Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, refused to hold a second round of negotiations with the United States in Pakistan, Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, arrived in Tehran on an urgent visit to persuade the Iranian side to return to Islamabad for talks.

English

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf:
We will not hold negotiations with the United States in Islamabad again.
The Islamabad talks were a plot to eliminate Iran’s negotiating delegation, which was successfully thwarted.
The United States must negotiate with us in a strong and capable country such as Russia or China.

Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, has called on Pakistan and other countries in the region to prevent their territories from being used for attacks against Iran by the United States, describing such actions as a violation of international law and the principles of the United Nations.
In a letter addressed to the UN Secretary-General and the rotating President of the Security Council, he stated that in some cases these countries have directly participated in attacks against Iran and have also presented evidence to the Security Council in this regard.
Iran has demanded compensation from these countries for the damages caused by the attacks.

Breaking:🚨
If the talks fail, the Iranian negotiating delegation in Islamabad may be targeted.
The spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that they have received intelligence indicating that certain malicious elements—reportedly linked to a specific faction within the Pakistani military—are attempting to implement a scenario to either assassinate or detain the Iranian delegation in the event that negotiations collapse.
English

Pakistan’s military deception regarding Iran:
On one hand, Pakistan invited an Iranian negotiating delegation to Islamabad. On the other, it deployed fighter jets to Saudi Arabia under the pretext of defending against Iran.
The Pakistani military appears to be trying to divert Iran’s attention from this move by hosting negotiations. However, it is clear that the Iranian government has a strong memory and will certainly hold such double-faced actions accountable.
