I was talking to a rising 7th grader in our neighborhood yesterday. Her first day of school is today! I asked her if she was excited about the year. She said: “Sort of… mainly I’m glad I have the opportunity to go to school. Not everyone has the chance to get a good education.” I was blown away by the wisdom and gratitude of this 12 year old girl. It fired me up! And I told her so. Here’s to all the amazing kids out there… and their dedicated teachers!
