No one should care how a kindergartener compares on a standardized test with kindergarteners around the country. They should care if the child feels cared for, valued, and actually enjoys coming to school to learn. Let's focus on the joy of learning, not testing.

Last week, a small group of SYC427 educators attended the 6th annual NIU Social Justice Summer Camp! Through the experience, educators who attended the conference were able to discuss social justice issues generally and in school-specific contexts with experts and colleagues.
