@TheRealKitty019 If you really think that msq is the only major content in this game an the only way to enjoy the game than you’re just out of the touch with the community, other than that if you’re just gonna spout the same dumb take over and over than there’s no point in talking to you lol

Can’t believe people are hating on this take lol. Like i’d rather have someone skip the story to experience the raids or whatever over them quitting because they have to suffer trough something they never wanted to do, the game has waaay more to offer than just msq people.

It’s 2026, we are gonna be 6 expansions deep into FFXIV soon. Can we stop with the weird gatekeepy behavior if someone doesn’t want to play through 250 hours of story to be able to play some of the best MMO raid encounters ever made? Heaven forbid someone asks you a small lore question if they start getting interested in the story after starting the game 10 years late. Are we really gonna keep driving people away with this weird NIMBY ritual? Just use your social skills (lol) and answer the small question, suggest they start a story alt on their downtime, or direct them to a synopsis video on YouTube. Crying about “story skippers” this deep into a game’s development cycle is peak cringe. If they set up a skip to Dawntrail for new characters to jump into the new story arc I and many others feel like it would be beneficial for the game’s long term health. While the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc is great storytelling it’s also not a sacred cow for people to clutch pearls over. At the end of the day, it’s a game to be played. We’re all better than this and should start acting like it.

@PrinnyFey That’s not what this discourse is about. It is about people who want to do the endgame stuff asking for a skip because they think the story, the main part of the game is a massive barrier to the things they want to do in the game.

@its_seiba There’s a skip button for a reason, and if I don’t feel like experiencing the story for whatever reason i will use my right to do that, if the devs really wanted us to forcefully experience everything they could just do what genshin did and remove the option to skip stuff

@its_seiba doesn’t really matter what the goal of the game is, people can play the game they paid money for however they like, if they enjoy rushing to endgame then that’s okay, personally more often than not during every downtime patch i see these kinds of people more active than msq peeps
