@JeffreyLuscombe The CPC is almost entirely funded by oil and gas companies…most of which are owned by US institutional investors.

"If you're not with the US, you're with China or Russia." This is a flawed framework pushed by certain self-proclaimed defenders of Western values. Reject this false dichotomy. We can build an independent bloc of countries that truly respect democracy and the rule of law.

@catturd2 So stupid. USA exports $120 billion in military equip a year. 1M US jobs directly rely on foreign arms sales, 2.5M indirectly. No bases in those countries means USA can’t supply itself in conflict zones. Fighter jets can’t fly from USA. Ability to project power disappears.

- Pull out of NATO. - Close all bases and remove all military personal from the UK, Germany, Spain, and France. - Never protect these countries again. - Stop all trade with these countries. ZERO. - Refuse to share any military technologies and don't allow to them to buy any military equipment. Ever. - Don't share any intelligence with them. NONE. - Tell them they have to provide 100% of weapons and money to Ukraine. - Cut them off completely.

@BBCWorld smart diplomacy wins again, shows Iran's calling the shots and rewarding those who talk instead of provoke. Respect.

@13Firecracker13 @CTVNews That’s fair, and I agree they aren’t doing enough. Unfortunately most of those supports (social services, health, education) fall under provincial jurisdiction and every time the Feds try to do something the provinces complain about jurisdiction.

@PrivateUser7432 @CTVNews Except the Liberal government doesn’t create supports that actually lift Canadians out of poverty, because if they did poverty wouldn’t be rising every year. Let people keep a little bit more in their pockets.

@Dallas777 @CTVNews No to Alto hey? Would you be against it if it was PP’s idea? Or are you only against in because the Liberals are pushing for it? Answer that honestly to yourself, I don’t need to hear it.

@itsmefromTO @CTVNews That’s not true. He was Governor of the Bank of England from 2013-2020 (I had to look that up) after he was so widely acclaimed for his great work at Bank of Canada with Harper as PM.

@PrivateUser7432 @TheMemeSheriff @CTVNews I’d like to see wasteful spending halted and either turn that into tax cuts or useful spending. Like the billion for this buyback could have perhaps bought guns off the streets from criminals, or went to border security where 90% of the guns used in violent crimes originate.

Problem is on a 300 dollar tank of fuel 80 bucks goes to taxes to fund infrastructure, housing blah blah blah. Yet the Infrastructure is shit, housing is completely fucked and healthcare is garbage. So where is it going? While all the CEOs and government officials get bonuses. If our tax dollars actually went to what was intended we wouldn't be having this conversation. So yeah, we want a tax break. Especially on fuel. Or better yet, invest in our own resources and make our own.

@BillSmith17404 @BpRonnie638 @jerrymasenchek @CTVNews When I was there 3 years ago, I paid $12 USD for a bag of chips and a pop at a gas station. At home, the same thing would have been $6 CAD. Mediocre restaurants were $35+ USD, at home $25 CAD got the same. Been there quite a few times. Not going back anytime soon though.

@Hybrid0859 @glenegrant @CTVNews Kind of - same price at the pumps, but one results in tax revenue for the Cdn gov’t and one increases profits for USA based institutional investors. I choose gov’t tax revenue, thanks.

@13Firecracker13 @CTVNews Some people will always struggle, it’s just a fact. But the best way to reduce the number of people struggling isn’t always tax cuts. If you can’t afford a car or rent, a 20 cent a litre cut will not affect you much. Taking 20 cents on every litre and investing in supports would.

@itsmefromTO @CTVNews I share your frustration of how things have been the last 10 years (see my profile)…inefficient, ineffective, lacking vision. But I think we are now on a good trajectory and the current government is doing the right things.

@PrivateUser7432 @CTVNews Like the 10yrs the liberals have run it? Or the other majority of the time they’ve run it? Boomers just keep waiting and crying for more taxes. While 30 somethings with great jobs still can’t own a home.
